A warm welcome awaits you at our homely Edwardian Country Guest House in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors. Built in 1910 by Captain Richard Smailes of the Smailes Steam Ship Company, the house was his personal country residence. The house has many of the original features including the stained glass front door, fireplaces and cornicing.
Guests enjoy fantastic views of the moors from the dining room at breakfast and from the guest lounge when relaxing with books, games, music and TV. Tide times and the weather forecast are displayed in the entrance hall and guides, maps, leaflets and timetables are readily available to help plan your stay. Guests can also enjoy a drink from our licensed bar in the comfort of the guest lounge, complete with an open fire for those cooler evenings.
Fairhaven has proven to be a fantastic venue for family parties and get togethers for up to 18 guests, with walking parties, 80th birthday parties and wedding party guests all staying with us in recent months.
For the safety and comfort of all our guests, our home is a smoke-free environment. The gardens are here to be enjoyed by all guests and Fairhaven benefits from a private drive and car park at the rear of the house.
